Dr. Monisha Behal Receives National Award

NEN’s Chairperson, Monisha Behal was presented the Ananya award by Somnath Chatterjee, Speaker, Lok Sabha on 9 March 2007 in New Delhi. The award constituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development felicitated ten women achievers, including Dr. Monisha Behal. ‘Ananya’ literally means incomparable or matchless.   The awardees were chosen for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.  The award ceremony was held at the end of a week long Ananya festival to mark International Women’s Day on March 8. At the award function Dr. Behal mentioned that her future vision is to include youth in large numbers for better governance and bringing dignity to the aspirations of the North region. 

 

 

NEN received Sanskriti Award

North East Network received the prestigious Sanskriti Award in 2004 for Outstanding Social Achievement. The award was presented by Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi, in a programme held at New Delhi on October 28, 2004.The awards are organised and conducted under the auspices of the Sanskriti Pratishthan and is endowed with a sum of Rs. 25,000 along with a Citation Plaque. Dr. Monisha Behal and Annie Sohtun on behalf of NEN received the award.
