Advocacy with the State and Central Government regarding women’s issues in Assam
With concern on the healthcare scenario of Assam, under the National Rural Health Mission, two women's organisations (AMSS and NEN) have compiled specific data from 9 districts of Assam. This Report is being made with the purpose that the government does its utmost in mitigating the inconsistencies found in the health care services of Assam state. The voices of 400 women are represented in the report titled, 'Field Shows a Different Crop' .These voices were also articulated during the International Women's Day of March 8, 2008 in Assam. Part of the report was presented by NEN before the Union Health Minister Shri. A. Ramadoss on April 4, 2008 which was a part of the consultative process initiated by Wada Na Todo Abhiyan.
